J-School Works

The following three articles were written by me in the Winter 2012 semester for the University of Regina School of Journalism’s newswire. It was here that stories could be picked up by media outlets across the province and inserted into their respective publications. My article pertaining to an international uranium deal between Canada and China, which would stand to economically benefit northern Saskatchewan, was printed in The Northerner, in La Ronge, SK. Also, two of the photos shown in the following articles were courtesy of myself.

The following four articles were written by me in the Fall 2011 semester for the University of Regina School of School of Journalism’s publication INK Online. I was tasked with the national beat, so three of the articles pertain to issues of Canadian importance with a Saskatchewan slant. The other article pertained to results in a riding from the Saskatchewan Provincial Election held on November 7. Also, three of the four photos/illustrations shown in the following articles were courtesy of myself. In addition, there was also a short video for the publication’s website shot by Taylor Shire, and edited by  Josee St. Onge and myself.

The following publications consist of varying mediums of broadcast journalism from my Intermediate Broadcast Journalism class during the Fall 2011 semester at the University of Regina’s School of Journalism. For ‘Off Topic’, I, co-hosted the show alongside Lisa Schick. I filmed and edited the music video with Natasha Tersigni. The soundscape was constructed and produced solely by myself.

Winnipeg Jets Soundscape — October 18, 2011

I wrote the following two sports artiles for The Carillon, the University of Regina’s student newspaper. PLEASE NOTE: The headlines you see below do not reflect my own choosing. They were applied by the newspaper’s then Sports Editor. I find one to be very dull, with no reference to the University of Regina sports team discussed in the article, and I find the other to be very inaccurate because in soccer a 0-0 game awards one point to both competing teams.
